Journal #1: Description, Location, & Experience

This simply gorgeous park is located just 15 minutes south of downtown Denver. Washington park has so much to offer, including a serene study spot for students, scenic biking/ walking/ running experience, sport facilities nearby, and two beautiful lakes! The park is 155 acres in total and includes two flower gardens. I took a bike ride around Smith Lake (the lake located furthest north) and it had newly paved biking lanes which made the experience even more enjoyable. It felt a little bit like Central Park, NYC in my opinion because of the similar trails, scenery, and overall feel. I sat on the grass at the Northern tip of Smith Lake and worked on homework for a few hours, which I definitely recommended doing! It was an overall highly enjoyable and calming experience as the scenery is so captivating and serene.
