Washington Park features many different kinds of wildlife/ plants. I walked around the park with my sister a few days ago and I identified an American Elm tree, Eastern Cottonwood tree, Walnut tree, and Silver Maple tree. The types of plants I identified within Washington Park's Mount Vernon Garden (shown in first 2 photos) were roses, geraniums, begonias, and petunias. Washington Park is an extremely pet friendly spot; I saw probably 30 different kinds of dogs on our walk! The types of fish within Smith Lake include largemouth bass, crappie, carp, bluegill, and channel catfish. There were several different kinds of animals that I encountered during our walk, including: American White Pelican, Snowy Egret, Barn Swallow, muskrat, blue jay, many squirrels, geese, and chipmunks!
